The dairy industry in the Eastern and Southern Africa region plays an important role in the lives of many people. From smallholder farmers to milk hawkers there are millions of households or businesses involved with over 80% of the milk in the region produced by smallholders. In general, the dairy sector is one of the critical sectors in the region with high potential for improving food security and welfare of its people. 

Preceding establishment of ESADA forum compromising dairy stakeholders in the COMESA and EAC was convened. ESADA/ADEPTA Trade & Exchange Mission to France

The Eastern and Southern Africa Dairy Association (ESADA) in collaboration with the ADEPTA is delighted to announce to the dairy industry stakeholders, the Trade and Exchange Mission to France which will be taking place on 14th to 21st May 2017.

The missions is aimed at exposing emerging dairy stakeholders across the value chain to world class dairying practices, technologies and solutions and nurturing business partnerships.

During the seven-day mission the participants will experience firsthand world-class dairy industry from the farm to the table. During the mission you will visit;

  • MARCHÉ INTERNATIONAL DE RUNGIS (http://www.rungisinternational.com/) Rungis is the world’s leading market for fresh products, boasts modern infrastructures and cutting-edge processes. Rungis Market is reputed for the broad range of products offered and their good value for money and for its leading position in sanitary standards of hygiene and safety.
  • SERAP FACTORY (http://www.groupeserap.com/) SERAP is the First European BMC manufacturer (100,000 tanks since 50 years) with 300 technicians and specialists. They specialize in developing, manufacturing and marketing milk coolers as well as equipment for cryogenic processes and freezing for the food-processing, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
